MESSAGE FROM HIS EXCELLENCY THE MINISTER OF HYDROCARBONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Welcome to all companies in the oil sector !
As you know, our industry remains deeply affected by the volatility of oil prices, a situation dependent on geopolitical factors and crude oil stocks available on world markets.
Despite this environment, our goal is to continue to renew our reserves by reconciling respect for the environment with the highest standard rules applied in our sector of activity. This is a prerequisite for laying the foundations for the industrial development of our country thanks to the mineral resources and energy, including hydrocarbons…
To this end, the Republic of Congo is promoting the five (5) free blocks of the interior basin of the Congolese basin.
This part of Congo’s unexplored mining domain, still full of enormous exploration potential, is part of the vast Congo Basin.
Geologically, the Great Basin of the Congo as a whole is formed by Paleozoic formations and has an area six (6) times larger than the prolific United States Permian Basin, where the largest world reserves of hydrocarbons have been produced for more than a century in formations of the same age.
To date, five (5) exploration wells have been drilled since the 1980s in the Greater Congo Basin, four on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) side and one (1) well (NGK-001) recently drilled on the side of the Republic of Congo, this latter well having reached the basement at the final depth of 2850 m and having encountered hydrocarbons. Evaluations are in progress. In addition, on the side of the Republic of Congo, the area is covered by:
- Aeromagnetic and gravity surveys of the 1980s and 1990s, detailed and covering all exploration areas;
- A 2D seismic of 318 km, of very good quality acquired in 2010 in the block of NGOKI.
Therefore, everything remains to be done!
That is why I have the honor to invite, on behalf of His Excellency Mr. Denis SASSOU N’GUESSO, President of the Republic, Head of State and on behalf of the Congolese Government, all the companies interested in register immediately for this promotion via the official website: https:// www.congocuvette.com.
Ladies and Gentlemen, here is the practical information for launching this campaign:
- From today: Consultation of information on each block and registration via the official website;
- November 2019: major presentation campaign in Cape Town.
It should be noted that these free blocks can be awarded on the basis of direct negotiations with oil companies meeting the required criteria (see website).
